`

`

Sugar cookies... simple and sweet.

`

Here's my recipe:

`

Bader's Sugar Cookies

Mix 1 1/3 cup flour, 2/3 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt and set aside. In another bowl cream 1 egg, 1 stick butter, 1/2 tsp vanilla, and 1-2 tbsp of milk, then gradually add flour mixture (milk can be adjusted as needed). Roll out, cut into shapes and bake at 425 for about 5 minutes (watch them carefully, they burn quickly!)

Sugar Cookie Icing

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tsp milk (adjust as needed)

2 tsp light corn syrup

1/4 tsp almond extract (or vanilla, or lemon extract... but we like almond)

food coloring

Mix sugar and milk until smooth, beat in corn syrup and flavoring until icing is glossy. Divide into bowls, add food coloring. (If it mixes up too thick add a tiny bit more milk or corn syrup.)

Happy Valentine's Day!
