It's that time again...

I've posted about Murphy and Tucker having their teeth floated a couple of times before....

Well, unbelievably, it's already time to do it again!

Our large animal vet was out yesterday and did both Murphy and Tucker's teeth... Unfortunately, it's one of those things that just has to be done to keep them healthy. True to form Murphy didn't make it easy... throwing his head up, trying to push the instruments out of his mouth with his tongue, backing up out of the head stand. And all that's after the extra hefty dose of sedation the vet gives him... he's so sedated he looks wobbly on his feet... and yet he can still put up a fight about having someone messing with his mouth.  I wish there was some way to tell him it would be over faster if he just relaxed a little...

R commiserating after the dastardly deed was done...

Also true to form, Tucker was amazing... He did push the vet into the wall a couple of times when he was trying to give him his sedation shot, but once the vet started working Tucker stood calmly, no fighting, and it took probably 1/3 of the time it took to do Murphy's teeth.

My poor little donkey's behind seems to be listing to port...

`

Tucker afterwards, still sedated, letting R know he's ready to be done now... please?!

`

So, hurray for us... Murphy and Tucker's hooves are trimmed, shots are done, teeth are done... now I just have to find 7 tons of good hay to fill my barn with and we're set for the year!
