... learned from a broken boiler.
Lesson #1: It is possible to be reasonably comfortable (reasonably being a key word in that sentence) when your boiler goes out, the temperature is below 0, and your house is cold...
It all boils down to how many layers you put on...
Lesson #2: More layers = more warmth
Lesson #3: Your fireplace is your second best friend when your boiler goes out during a cold spell.
For extra credit:
What is your first best friend?
`(giving you time to think)
The cord of wood you bought last winter.
Alternate answer to extra credit problem:
The guy who comes to fix your boiler.
Unfortunately, the boiler still isn't fixed despite three different people working on it over the past four days.
On the bright side... it's supposed to warm up today!
On the other bright side... my house hasn't burned down, it hasn't snowed inside my walls, and my brand new drywall doesn't have to be torn back off the walls to fix a leak.
(My daughter E knows just the right way to make me feel better about having no heat.... :)
