This morning the kids worked an RCC service project. They (we) worked a table at an outdoor “non-profit showcase” talking to others about what their Rotary club does, and collecting donations. This showcase was held in conjunction with something called a Santa Reunion. Apparently, old men who like to dress up as Santa and spend the Christmas season at mall holiday displays holding an endless stream of children on their laps, have nothing to do in September so they all came to Parker where the rest of us were supposed to figure out which one was the “real” Santa. I believe voting was involved, but we didn’t look too hard at the details of what seemed to me to be a kind of bizarre event anyway… especially in September (although I think it would have been equally weird in December!)
